“Diplomat,” “Nobody” Renewed At Netflix

“Diplomat,” “Nobody” Renewed At Netflix

Netflix
Netflix has announced renewal orders for two series – its Keri Russell-led acclaimed political drama/thriller “The Diplomat” and the Kristen Bell-Adam Brody led romance comedy series “Nobody Wants This”.

“The Diplomat” order is a welcome surprise as the second season isn’t slated to premiere for a few more weeks yet, arriving on the service on October 31st. In fact a newly released photo suggests that filming on the third season has been underway for a while.

The first season released back in April 2023 and follows Kate Wyler (Russell), the new United States ambassador to the United Kingdom as she helps to defuse an international crisis, forges strategic alliances and adjusts to her new place in the spotlight.

Debora Cahn created the series and returns for the third season as executive producer alongside Russell, Janice Wiliams, and Alex Graves. She teased the third season cryptically, saying: “Season 3 flips the chessboard. In Season 3, Kate lives the particular nightmare that is getting what you want.”

Meanwhile “Nobody Wants This” premiered last month on the service. Created by Erin Foster, the series follows an agnostic podcast host and an unconventional rabbi on the rebound who meet at a party and begin a relationship.

Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan are joining as executive producers and showrunners for the new season.
