Former Employee Exposes Great Wall Motors’ Massive Layoffs

A former employee of Great Wall Motors recently accused the company of large-scale layoffs, impacting hundreds of employees. The company allegedly orchestrated these layoffs through non-consensual job reassignments and pay cuts. The informant claimed that she was transferred from a technical role to a warehouse management position based on the grounds that she had received ‘D’ ratings in her performance assessments three times within the year, indicating unsuitability for her current role. This move resulted in her salary being drastically reduced to 3000 yuan per month.

The whistleblower shared a ‘Termination of Employment Contract Notice,’ which showed that she was dismissed for failing to report to her new position, resulting in three days of absence. This was deemed a violation of Great Wall Motors’ policies. When asked why she didn’t report to her new position, she explained that she had formally refused the reassignment via the work software ‘DingTalk,’ but received no response from HR. Three days later, she received a notice terminating her employment contract. She has disputed this decision, demanding compensation, and is currently in the midst of labor arbitration with the company.

At the time of reporting, Great Wall Motors has not issued any response to these allegations.
