Fourth “Spider-Man,” “Avengers” Filming Talk

Fourth “Spider-Man,” “Avengers” Filming Talk

Sony Pictures
With filmmaker Daniel Destin Cretton (“Shang-Chi”) having signed up to direct a fourth “Spider-Man,” it seems as if things are finally firming up on the project.

DanielRPK is reporting that the next Spidey film is targeting a May 25th filming start in the UK with production slated to continue on until October.

The outlet also says Downey Jr. will reportedly film “Avengers: Doomsday” for around three months while the main heroes will each film for about a month with production starting in March.

Heroes with smaller roles will film for 1-2 weeks and overall production on “Avengers: Doomsday” is expected to take around five months.

Tom Holland is set to return in his role as Peter Parker for “Spider-Man 4,” but beyond that things are more rumor-oriented. There’s been talk that Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire might be back as well.

Garfield was asked by Happy Sad Confused the other day if he’d had conversations about returning to which he replied with a cagey: “Yeah, of course, your assumption is not unfounded.”

Other rumors such as one at MyTimeToShineH have suggested Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom will have a role in the film and his relationship with Parker will be a key part of “Avengers: Doomsday,” but that sounds incredibly speculative.

Holland is expected to get his “Avengers: Doomsday” filming commitments done before he gets started on the next Spidey – suggesting he’ll be in the suit filming for a major chunk of next year. The actor has done an update on his social media account today indicating a big announcement is coming tomorrow, though it may not be Marvel related.
