Full Trailer: Spike Lee’s “Highest 2 Lowest”

A24 and Apple Original Films have premiered the full trailer for “Highest 2 Lowest,” Spike Lee‘s upcoming reimagining of Akira Kurosawa’s classic “High and Low”.

When a titan music mogul (Denzel Washington), widely known as having the “best ears in the business,” is targeted with a ransom plot, he is jammed up in a life-or-death moral dilemma.

The original film starred Toshiro Mifune as a shoe company executive who is extorted after his chauffeur’s son is kidnapped by mistake and held for ransom.

Washington is joined by Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, A$AP Rocky and Ice Spice in the new film which Lee calls a reinterpretation of the original as opposed to a remake.

Alan Fox wrote the screenplay with Lee while Todd Black will produce. This is Lee and Denzel’s fifth film together following “Mo’ Better Blues,” “Malcolm X,” “He Got Game” and “Inside Man”.

A24 will release the film in cinemas on August 15th with the title then becoming available via Apple TV+ on September 5th.
