Jealous of Apple Watch users being able to pay with their wrists at the cashier? You now have an alternative if you own a Garmin smartwatch and Public Bank credit cards, because Garmin Pay has finally made its official debut here after a long time.
Garmin Pay works similarly to any NFC payment methods, the feature is supported on over 59 Garmin smartwatch models, the service will allow you add Public Bank Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards to your wearable, and you will simply just need to tap your watch on a payment terminal to make a payment.
In terms of security, a virtual card number will be issued when you add a new card to Garmin Pay, Garmin also says that the original card number will not be stored on the device, Garmin’s servers and passed to merchants.
To celebrate the launch, Public Bank is offering Garmin Pay users RM30 cashback when they perform three transactions with a minimum spend of RM80 per transaction, this benefit is valid till 30 April 2025, find out how you can do that here.
