The Monthly Two-Day Projects Review Meeting of the Government of Akwa Ibom State was held from Thursday, May 22 to Friday, May 24, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo.
The meeting, presided over by Governor Umo Bassey Eno, brought together members of the State Executive Council, Project Delivery Advisors, and other key stakeholders in the governance process.
Over the course of the two days, a total of 48 projects were reviewed out of the 57 projects which are at different stages of execution in the State.
This strategic review session provided an avenue for critical appraisal, cross-sectoral synergy, and policy alignment to ensure that all projects are being executed according to the high standards set under the ARISE Agenda.
In his opening remarks, Governor Umo Eno reiterated his commitment to accountability, performance-based governance, and results delivery. He emphasized the importance of regular inspections, noting that leadership must go beyond expectations to measurable outcomes.
The Governor tasked Commissioners and delivery advisors on synergy to ensure seamless and timely execution of projects under their watch.
He said the delivery meeting was very essential because of the need for a critical review of the state of projects, and to ensure that they are executed according to specifications.
The Govenor appreciated members of his team and the stakeholders for their commitment thus far, stressing that the focus of his administration will remain on good governance anchored on the ARISE Agenda, rather than on party politics.
Governor Eno also assured continuous prudent management of resources, and announced the flag off of the 5000 seater international convention center and the 200 bed Ibom Hotel slated for Saturday May 24, 2025.
Among the projects reviewed were: the Ibom Tourism Summit, ARISE Park, Ibom Hotel renovation, Agricultural equipment leasing, Ibom Multi-specialist Hospital, General Hospitals in Ibiono Ibom, Ukanafun, Ikot Ekpene, Etinan,
Mother and Child Hospital, ARISE Dialysis Center, Airport clinic, Itam Industrial Park, Ibom Convention Center, Ikot Ekpene International Market, House of Assembly Complex and Speaker’s Lodge, AkwaGIS building, Airport projects, ARISE Senior Citizens Center, and road projects.
Also in the list included; Oron Ferry Boat/Jetty, CitiBuses, Nigeria for Women Project, Aviation Village, Doctor’s Residence/Medical Corridor, mass Housing Estate, Ibom Hotel, Abuja, AKICORP Building, Ibom Towers, Lagos, Ewet Luxury Gardens Estate, Ibom Paint, Model Secondary Schools, Sports Academy, Judiciary Quarters, Governor’s Office Annex, One Project per Local Government, and Compassionate Homes, Chairman’s residence, and others.
