April is officially here, and that means we’ve got (at least) two Xbox first-party titles to look forward to over the coming weeks, including South of Midnight which arrives at the start of the month! We’re really excited for this one here at Pure Xbox, and here’s hoping the final game is as good as the preview we played a couple of months ago.
This is another Xbox first-party launch that’s getting an early access period as well, so to try and clear up any confusion, we’ve broken down all the release dates, release times and various other details for South of Midnight down below.

South Of Midnight Early Access Release Date
South of Midnight has an early access release date of April 3rd, 2025. You can acquire early access by purchasing either the Premium Upgrade or Premium Edition of South of Midnight on the Xbox Store.
The Premium Upgrade is the one that’s targeted solely at Xbox Game Pass members as it doesn’t include the base game, so you’ll need to remain subscribed to Game Pass in order to keep playing after the early access is over.

South Of Midnight Xbox Game Pass Release Date
South of Midnight has an Xbox Game Pass release date of April 8th, 2025. The game will be available for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members on this date, but not for those who are on the Standard or Core tiers.

The Xbox Game Pass version of South of Midnight has a release time of 9am PDT / 12pm EDT / 5pm GMT on April 8th.

How To Pre-Install South Of Midnight On Xbox Game Pass
To pre-install South of Midnight on Xbox Game Pass, all you need to do is locate the Game Pass app on your console, look in the “Coming Soon” section, find South of Midnight and select the “pre-install all” option.
The current download size of South of Midnight on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S is 58.5GB.
Is South Of Midnight Coming To Xbox One?
South of Midnight is not getting a native version for Xbox One, which means the only way you can play it on that console is to stream it via Xbox Cloud Gaming. You must be an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate member in order to do this.
When Is The South Of Midnight Review Embargo?
