Hajia4Reall To Come Home Soon As US Court Grants Her Request For Self-Deportation

News

The legal team of Ghanaian social media personality Mona Faiz Montrage, also known as Hajia4Reall or Mona4Reall, has requested that her passport be released, and a US District Court judge, Hon. J. Paul Oetken, has granted their request.

As Montrage approaches the conclusion of her 12-month prison term at the FDC Philadelphia facility, the decision was made to allow her to self-deport to Ghana.

On November 1, 2024, Montrage’s attorneys, Fast Law, submitted the request, stating that she needed to start the process of self-deportation.

The legal team said, “We are respectfully seeking the return of Ms. Montrage’s passport to initiate her self-deportation proceedings to Ghana,” in a document that Nydjlive.com was able to get. The government did not oppose to this request, according to our conversation with AUSA Kevin Mead.

Judge Oetken granted the request, ordering that Montrage’s passport be released to her legal representatives.

The decision is a major development in Montrage’s case, which has received a lot of attention. On February 21, 2024, she entered a guilty plea to conspiracy to accept stolen money, and on June 28, 2024, she was sentenced to 12 months and 1 day in jail.

Mona Montrage was sentenced to three years of supervised release in addition to her jail time. She was also ordered to forfeit $216,475 and make $1,387,458 in restitution.

Ghanaians are excited for her return especially since she has been off the grid for a while now.
