Purge Hell in Holy Shoot
Tale Era Interactive has rolled out a major update to the demo of Holy Shoot, their stylized roguelite FPS, now live on Steam. This revamped version builds significantly on earlier feedback, adding a range of new features that make the experience faster, louder, and more chaotic than ever.
The headline addition is a full-fledged multi-phase boss fight against Satan, set in a large arena designed to test players’ skills and reactions. A new weak point system adds precision-based damage for sharper combat feedback, while elemental perks introduce fresh synergies and playstyles.
The update also debuts a combat-ready companion, complete with voice lines and a judgmental attitude, making her first appearance in the public build. The team also revamped the visuals and UI, improving both readability and style. The world itself feels more alive now with voiceovers, hub NPCs, and added environmental hazards like exploding barrels and power crystals. Players will notice that the pacing feels tighter across more rooms, and the developers have reportedly fixed out-of-bounds issues, though they are eager to hear if anyone breaks things again.
Holy Shoot puts players in the boots of a warrior from The Sanctum, fighting through the depths of Hell to face bosses inspired by the Seven Deadly Sins. The roguelite formula blends gunplay, cursed upgrades, and chaotic encounters, all wrapped in a bold visual style.
Still in active development, the game continues to evolve with help from its growing community. The updated demo is available now for free on Steam, and the developers are welcoming players’ feedback on the game’s official Discord server.
