How Suspected Lakurawa Terrorists Attempted To Bribe Investigator With N1Million In Kebbi –Nigerian Police 

Meanwhile, the attempted bribery occurred on the premises of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Gwadangaji, Birnin Kebbi.

The Kebbi State Police Command says it rejected a bribe of ₦1,060,000 offered by three suspects linked to the notorious Lakurawa terrorist group.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Abubakar, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.

The suspects, identified as Umaru Garba, 53, of Dangandu village; Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji Mamman, 51, of Maimaichi village; and Usman Muhammadu, 50, of Bakaramba village, were apprehended for their alleged involvement in a banditry case in northern Kebbi State.

According to the statement, the trio attempted to bribe the lead investigator to compromise the case against them, which includes charges of aiding and abetting the Lakurawa bandits.

Meanwhile, the attempted bribery occurred on the premises of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Gwadangaji, Birnin Kebbi.

Abubakar explained that the suspects were immediately arrested, and investigations are ongoing.

“They will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

“The state Commissioner of Police, Bello Sani, commended the detectives for their integrity and professionalism. He urged other officers to emulate their commitment to upholding justice,” the statement said.

The commissioner reiterated the command’s resolve to intensify efforts in combating banditry and other crimes to ensure socio-economic development in Kebbi State.
