If someone new is visiting your home and they have an Apple device, the easiest way to share your Wi-Fi password with them is to use one of Apple’s built-in tools.
If you’re running iOS 18 or later, you can search for your Wi-Fi password using the new Passwords app. This is the most straightforward method, but it can be overwhelming if you have a lot of saved networks. Just open the app, navigate to the Wi-Fi section on the homepage, and then search for the network you want to find the password for. When you select your network, you can also make it appear as a QR code that can be easily scanned by anyone’s camera.
The Passwords app saves all of your logins and credentials for any Wi-Fi network your iCloud account has used before. It is also available on Macs and iPads.
Alternatively, if you’re already on the network you want to share, you can also navigate to the Wi-Fi section in the Settings app and tap on the name of your network to see the password.
If the person you’re sharing with is an Apple user with an iPad, iPhone, Mac or Vision Pro, there is an easier way. If they’re nearby and select the Wi-Fi network, a popup should appear on your screen asking if you want to share the passcode.
Make sure both users have Bluetooth enabled so that your Apple device can sense the nearby device that isn’t signed into the network.
