Ghanaian musician and MP elect for Gomoa Central, Kwame A Plus has revealed that he is at the centre of a political tug-of-war, with both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) vying for his allegiance.
Taking to Facebook, A Plus disclosed that the NPP, under the leadership of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, has extended a significant offer to align with them in Parliament.
“The NPP has officially approached me with a proposal to support my political journey. Among the agreements discussed is a commitment that they will not contest the Gomoa Central parliamentary seat in the 2028 elections,” A Plus shared.
Despite the NPP’s enticing proposal, A Plus made it clear that his heart leans toward the NDC, a party with which he has expressed a genuine desire to align. “The NDC has also invited me for a meeting tomorrow at 8 a.m. I genuinely wish to align with them, but I must weigh all options before making my decision,” he said.
The outspoken commentator acknowledged the delicate nature of his situation, given his relationships within both political camps. “I have friends in both the NDC and the NPP, and they have to understand that someone will be disappointed tomorrow,” A Plus remarked, adding that his final decision will not be swayed solely by personal preferences.
A Plus emphasised that his choice will ultimately hinge on who can offer the best for him and the people of Gomoa Central. “Let me make this simple and clear: I will side with whoever has my interest at heart and provides the best offer, not just for me but also for the development of Gomoa Central,” he stated firmly.
