Idid has dropped their debut album I Did It, marking their entry as an exciting new act K-pop. Their name reflects determination and ambition, while their music channels pure emotion and personal expression. As member Jang Yonghoon shared in a press statement, “We aim for a ‘high-end’ refreshing vibe and strive to express a range of emotions in our own instinctive style.”

“Chan-Ran,” the album’s lead single, expands on the sound of their pre-release track “Step It Up,” which dropped in July, showcasing Idid’s energy and confidence. Amping up the vibe, the new song built around bright rhythms and catchy hip-hop beats comes with a music video featuring the septet’s carefree spirit, capturing the essence of the lyrics like, “Let the passing wind carry me / An unstoppable, free-as-ever feelin’ / Yeah, I’m shining in my own way.” Member Jeong Semin says that “Chan-Ran” reflects Idid’s philosophy of accepting flaws and living constructively without giving in to what others expect and “represents the direction our team is heading in.”

His message also resonates throughout the eight tracks on the album, highlighting its consistent emotional tone as much as what member Park Songhyeon shares: “What sets us apart from other groups is our youthful energy.” From the high-energy opener “Step It Up” to the delicate emotional mapping of “Slow Tide,” each song on the record is a different sentiment and a different perspective. “ImPerfect” is an ode to the beauty of being imperfect, while “So G.oo.D” and “Sticky Bomb” channel the anxiousness of thoughts and feelings that come with inner conflicts. The album also highlights the group’s past experiences and growth from their label Starship Entertainment’s survival show Debut’s Plan (2025) in tracks like “Taking Off—Through Your Dreams” and “Blooming Crown,” and eventually is a snapshot of the band’s unbridled “now,” capturing them in the moment.

With members Jang Yonghoon, Kim Minjae, Park Wonbin, Chu Yoochan, Park Seonghyeon, Baek Junhyuk, and Jeong Semin, Idid is the first boy group in nearly five years since Cravity came into being from Starship Entertainment, a label that boasts other popular K-pop acts like Monsta X, Ive, and KiiiKiii. “Following in the footsteps of our seniors, we are making our debut after five years,” Jang Yonghoon says, adding, “We’re beyond happy to debut and will work hard to become Starship’s next great boy group.

Sharing more about themselves, Idid reveals being inspired by legends like Coldplay and Bruno Mars. Jang Yonghoon opens up on their big dreams: “We want to become a group that defines an era,” to which Baek Junhyuk adds that another goal of theirs is to make a strong first impression and win the Rookie of the Year award. And the journey toward that has begun with I did it, a befitting statement of what’s to come from this talented rookie group.
