Contrary to what’s expected of a 30-something-year-old, I am not a huge fan of coffee. Sure, I indulge in the occasional cappuccino, find innovations like mushroom coffee to be fascinating, and love the coffee culture in Europe — but a cup of joe is not my preferred drink. Growing up in a South African household and spending three of my adult years in London, I am now a person who drinks four to six cups of tea a day. I tested two kettles before discovering the Haden and in comparison to those two, I really appreciate the user-friendly simplicity of this device. Other kettles at this price point have super tech-driven features that aren’t always the easiest to understand. I like that the Haden Dorset Electric Kettle only has one lever to start, so you literally can’t make a mistake.
It also looks great in my kitchen, though my favorite part is how small but mighty the machine is. I had some friends over for a tea party and the kettle stayed warm for close to 25 minutes, making it easy to serve in seconds without re-boiling.
How to Use the Haden Dorset Electric Kettle
Setting up the kettle will take you no more than two minutes. After you’ve unboxed it, you simply plug it in, fill it with water, and push the lever down. I would suggest filling it to capacity with water and boiling it out before making your first cup of tea to get rid of any debris.
What to Consider Before Trying the Haden Dorset Electric Kettle
The only drawback to the Haden kettle is the cost. There are, of course, many kettle options at a lower price point, but for the liquid capacity and heat retention, you’ll be happy you invested in this machine.
