Apple has officially released iOS 18.4, bringing a significant update that expands its Apple Intelligence features to new regions including the European Union and India. Alongside this regional expansion, Apple has added support for several new languages, making its AI-driven capabilities more accessible globally. The update now supports French (France and Canada), German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Spain, Latin America, and the US), Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and localized English (India and Singapore).
With iOS 18.4, Apple introduces Priority Notifications, a new system that pushes critical alerts to the top of the notification stack. This ensures that important messages or reminders are more visible and less likely to be missed, streamlining the user experience for time-sensitive tasks.
The update also enhances Apple’s Image Playground, which now includes a new Sketch style for content generation. Additionally, Visual Intelligence—which powers features like on-device image understanding and editing—is now available on iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max devices.
Apple Intelligence, which includes features like Smart Reply, Genmoji, Writing Tools, and Image Playground, is available on devices powered by the A17 Pro chip and newer, including the iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, and the upcoming iPhone 16 series, as well as iPads and Macs with the M1 chip or later.
For older devices not compatible with iOS 18, Apple has released iOS and iPadOS 16.7.11 and 15.8.4, ensuring continued support and security.
Alongside iOS 18.4, Apple is also rolling out updates across its other platforms:
iPadOS 18.4, macOS 15.4, and watchOS 11.4 are now available visionOS 2.4 brings the first wave of Apple Intelligence features to the Apple Vision Pro The Apple Vision Pro is receiving a boost with features like Smart Reply, Image Playground, Writing Tools, and Genmoji, though these are currently available exclusively in US English. Apple has also launched a dedicated Apple Vision Pro iOS app, giving users access to spatial content, remote app downloads, and helpful tips.
On the wearable front, watchOS 11.4 introduces a new “Break Through Silent Mode” option, allowing sounds and haptics to function even when the watch is set to silent. The update also includes Matter support, enabling control of Matter-compatible smart home devices such as robot vacuums, alongside general bug fixes and performance improvements.
