Jinny Ng Explains “Public Trial” Approach For Husband

(Above, right) Ginny stars in new TVB drama Battle of Marriage .True to the impression she gives of being a candid and forthcoming person, singer and actress Jinny Ng (吳若希) often takes to social media to share her take on personal matters. In July 2024, she did the same to air her unhappiness when her husband, Alex Ho (何兆鴻) insisted on sending a female colleague to work.

While some may think that publicly criticizing her husband on a public platform online is disrespectful or too extreme, Jinny feels that this is a unique way of communication between the two of them. She shares her thoughts, “If say after the ‘public trial’, our relationship worsens, then it was really too much, but what if after that things improve (between us)? Then I’d feel it’s not a bad approach,”

Looking back, Jinny divulged that she had tried persuading her husband otherwise before taking the matter online, but did not understand why Alex was insistent on driving this female colleague to work that day for whatever reason. “I asked him, why do you have to pick her up? It’s not like it’s necessary,” And he said, ”It’s no big deal, it’s so close anyway, so I’ll just swing by and pick her up.” So I told him, ‘Have you ever seen Thomas Hui To (許濤) send me to the office? Thomas is a boss, but you wouldn’t see him randomly take a female subordinate to work, my husband replied, “She is helping me with some office work, she’s in Kai Tak right now.’ Even when I spoke to him gently, he didn’t listen,” Thus, Ginny resorted to telling her husband not to drive, and instead told him to take the subway to work.

Chose Alex From 2 Other Suitors!

Although Alex sometimes drives her to the point of being boiling mad, she is not unaware of his strengths. Asked why she chose to be with him many years ago, Jinny revealed that three prospective suitors – all the sons of wealthy families – who courted her at the same time; so she consulted Clement Chan (陳定幫) – HK’s renowned celebrity geomancer, to help her decide. “I only requested that he loves me very much, and is very filial, but I’m really dumb, I should have added that he needs to be “very intelligent” too, haha!”
