Kunle ‘K-Rad’ Adegoke Reveals Why Tinubu Deserves Credit For Adeleke’s Performance

Kunle Adegoke, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Osun, says President Bola Tinubu should be credited for the developmental strides attributed to Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Adegoke, popularly known as K-Rad, said the perceived progress in Osun is largely a product of the economic reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration — and not necessarily the efforts of the state government.

Speaking during a meeting with APC stakeholders, women, and youth leaders from Osogbo and Olorunda local government areas at his campaign office in Alekuwodo, Osogbo, over the weekend, Adegoke said Tinubu’s economic decisions have provided the financial lifeline that many state governments are now enjoying.

“Before President Tinubu assumed office, many states were teetering on the brink of bankruptcy,” Adegoke said.

“But following his bold steps, including the removal of petrol subsidy and the floating of the naira, the federal government’s revenue base has expanded significantly. This has resulted in higher federal allocations to states.”

He said these increased revenues have enabled states to clear salary backlogs, pay pension arrears, and embark on capital projects — achievements that were difficult to attain prior to Tinubu’s policy overhaul.

According to him, many state governors — including Adeleke — have been able to fund infrastructural development and other projects due to the financial headroom created by Tinubu’s economic agenda.

“In fairness, the man who deserves credit for the so-called transformation in Osun and other states is President Bola Tinubu,” he said. “His bold, strategic leadership has unlocked the financial stability that now enables state governments to meet citizens’ expectations.”

K-Rad’s comments come as political activities begin to gather momentum in Osun ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

He pledged to build a self-reliant Osun economy if elected governor, saying his administration would focus on agriculture and industrialisation to drive growth and generate revenue.
