Crush Music has been fastidiously building its management roster, adding Kesha, Labrinth and, as of last summer, Lil Nas X, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Lil Nas X joins Green Day, Sia, Miley Cyrus, Lorde, Alanis Morissette, Weezer, Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco at the Los Angeles- and New York-based Crush.
The two-time Grammy Award winner is best known for his 2018 breakout hit “Old Town Road,” which featured Billy Ray Cyrus. He followed up the smash with a string of successful singles, including “Montero (Call Me by Your Name),” “That’s What I Want,” “Panini” and “Industry Baby,” a collaboration with Jack Harlow. His most recent release, the song “Light Again!” dropped in November.
Lil Nas X was previously managed by Adam Leber of Rebel Management, who had also represented Miley Cyrus and helped orchestrate her father’s appearance on “Old Town Road.” At Crush, he’s repped by Jonathan Daniel and Dustin Addis.
Early last year, the rapper’s documentary, Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero, debuted on HBO, following a world premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival. The documentary followed the rapper, born Montero Hill, over two months as he performed on his Long Live Montero tour. In the film, Lil Nas X discussed his career and his place in the music landscape.
Lil Nas X is signed to Columbia Records, label home to Cyrus and Labrinth.
Crush Music was founded by Daniel and Bob McLynn, both former musicians, in 2002. The company also counts an investment arm, Crush Ventures, which helps seed early-stage founders.
