It Girl Lola Tung is playing with one of late summer’s emerging trends, the controversial comeback of the silk scarf tied around the hips. Once an off-shoot of the hippie-chic wardrobe, this was never a ubiquitous look, but just a couple weeks ago we saw Kylie Jenner with a printed scarf skirt about her hips, so, guess it’s happening!
For a walk in Midtown Manhattan, Tung combined a host of 2000s staples: a middle part with face-framing side pieces; a dog as an accessory, super-low-rise pants, a crisp white tank top with artfully exposed bra straps; and a handbag bedecked with keychains and charms. And topping off the ‘fit were shades and a silk scarf printed with the Coach logo. She looks ready to absolutely obliterate the mall and we do mean that as a compliment.

(Okay but seriously, the fact that she hasn’t tripped over the hem of these pants is very impressive.)
Is that a Coachtopia bag we see? A+ on your brand ambassadorship duties, Agent Tung.

Currently making the rounds to promote the final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty, Tung stepped out the very same day in an office siren-y pencil dress accessorized with pointed-toe heels and a boxy handbag.

It’s definitely a more polished look than summer child Belly, who began the series as a teenager in full friendship regalia. In an interview with Glamour, Tung called her character’s homemade bracelets her favorite part of her look, saying, “I love her fun, braided bracelets. I think they’re really special and I always had to have those in a certain order. They really complete her look; without them, it wouldn’t be the same.” Now that there’s a time jump into the third season, the character is finally the same age as the actor playing her, so maybe we’ll get some Tung-esque fashions! The first episodes drop today, so…
