Marvel’s Wolverine finally gets gameplay reveal, fall 2026 release window

The new trailer featured visceral combat, the classic yellow suit, casting for Wolverine and more

At long last, Insomniac has revealed the first look at gameplay footage from its highly-anticipated Marvel’s Wolverine.

The new trailer came during Wednesday’s PlayStation State of Play presentation. Notably, the game was first revealed four years ago at the 2021 PlayStation Showcase but we haven’t seen anything from it since outside of rough footage from leaks.

In the trailer, we see Wolverine killing a bunch of humans and robots in a cowboy outfit, as well as his signature yellow costume. We also see classic X-Men villains Omega Red, Mystique and a Sentinel. The trailer ends with a fall 2026 launch window for the game.

In a message from Insomniac developers, Liam McIntyre (Spartacus) was also confirmed to be playing Wolverine. The team also revealed that signature Wolverine locations like the Canadian wilderness, Madripoor and Japan will be featured in the game.

Finally, Insomniac says it will reveal more from the game in spring 2026.

Notably, this is Insomniac’s fourth Marvel game after 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man, 2020’s Miles Morales and 2023’s Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The prolific developer is also expected to be working on a third mainline game featuring the Green Goblin as the villain.
