It might be worth checking your Xbox account(s)

This week, Microsoft finally unleashed the Xbox Spring Sale 2025 – with over 1,000 games currently discounted as part of the massive promotion. However, the team has gone one better for certain Xbox users – by handing out free gift cards to encourage some Spring Sale spending.
As posted over on Reddit, some Xbox players are getting free Microsoft Store gift cards pinged to their inboxes; seemingly for either $5 or $10. Here’s an example of the sort of message you’d receive, if you end up being one of the lucky recipients of this bonus Xbox offer:
It’s not only this user sharing their success, either. Plenty of comments within this thread are claiming to be successful as well, with some users also mentioning that they had to log on to their alternate, lesser-used accounts to see the offer crop up.
Here at PX HQ, we haven’t seen this offer pinged into our UK inboxes yet – but the examples so far do seem to be US-based, so that may explain our lack of Xbox freebies thus far. Of course, the promotion is also likely to be pretty limited when you take into account the sheer number of Xbox users out there.
We’re super curious to see how many of you see this offer, so please tell us if Microsoft is generous enough to send you a gift card to coincide with the Spring Sale!
