Miley Cyrus Addresses Possibility of ‘Hannah Montana’ Reboot
Nobody’s perfect, but Miley Cyrus is pretty close when it comes to playing Hannah Montana.
As the beloved Disney show approaches its 20th anniversary in March 2026, Miley shared her thoughts on the possibility of a reboot.
“I don’t know if there is a new Hannah,” Miley admitted when asked about recasting the role for a reboot by Billboard in a Dec. 3 interview. “This is the only Hannah.”
Trust, Miley is going to put on her old blue jeans and pump up the party for the 20th anniversary.
“For me, I love looking back at the growth for both of us because it’s very rare that someone grows up with their fanbase,” she explained. “When I was 15 years old, I’d look out and see 15-year-olds and now I’m a grown woman, I look out and see other grown people. So what I want to do is honor the longevity of the relationship that we built.”
Having earned a Disney Legend award last year for her pivotal role, the 33-year-old—who confirmed her engagement to Maxx Morando earlier this month—emphasized the enduring power of the double-life pop star.
“Hannah Montana, it outgrew the fantasy,” she continued. “It became the reality of my life. Something that was about a regular girl getting to have this extraordinary life by being someone that she’s not and then turning my life and having this life because of being who I really am and authenticity. So getting to celebrate that—20 years is a long time.”
As for what she has up her sleeve? Miley teased to Good Morning America Dec. 2 that “a lot” of her time is being dedicated to planning the show’s 20th anniversary.
“How can I honor Hannah in such a special celebration for us all?” Miley posited. “I’m excited to celebrate her.”

While Miley spent a few years separating her image from the blonde wig diva she personified on Disney after the series ended in 2011, she has more recently come around to holding on to Hannah wherever she goes.
“You were like a rocket that flew me to the moon and never brought me back down,” Miley gushed to her character in a 2021 ode shared to Instagram to celebrate the show’s 15th anniversary. “You have all my love and the utmost gratitude. Breathing life into you for those six years was an honor.”
Miley emphasized, “You have all my loyalty and deepest appreciation until the end.”
