MINI Expands Lineup with Electric John Cooper Works Models

MINI Australia will introduce two new fully electric, high-performance models in early 2025: the All-Electric MINI John Cooper Works and the All-Electric JCW Aceman.

These additions to the John Cooper Works range, initially revealed at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, represent MINI’s expansion into the electric vehicle market.

Performance and Specifications

Both models feature aerodynamically enhanced designs and deliver identical performance figures. They are powered by electric motors producing 190kW of power and 350Nm of torque, delivered to the front wheels.

The three-door JCW accelerates from 0-100km/h in 5.9 seconds, while the JCW Aceman achieves the same in 6.4 seconds.

Both models have a top speed of 200km/h.

Equipped with a 54.2kWh battery, the three-door JCW offers a WLTP-rated range of up to 371km, while the Aceman provides up to 355km.

These electric models continue the legacy of the John Cooper Works brand, known for its performance-oriented vehicles since the 1960s. They incorporate an electric boost function, activated via a steering wheel paddle, which provides an additional 20kW for enhanced acceleration.

The vehicles feature John Cooper Works-specific suspension tuning, high-performance tyres, and a powerful braking system identified by Chili Red calipers with a white JCW logo.

Design and Features

The exterior design emphasizes performance with a distinct red, white, and black JCW logo on the high-gloss black octagonal grille. Other design elements include JCW Signature LED headlights, black side skirts, aeroblades, and a rear spoiler. Aerodynamically optimized wheels are available in 18-inch for the three-door and 19-inch for the Aceman.

The interior features a black and red colour scheme, vegan leather seats with red stitching, and a 240mm OLED display for vehicle information and controls. Customizable “MINI Experience Modes” allow drivers to adjust the interior ambience.

Both models include driver-assistance systems, including automatic speed and distance control for enhanced driving comfort.

Australian Price and Availability

The All-Electric MINI John Cooper Works and All-Electric MINI John Cooper Works Aceman are scheduled to arrive in Australia in Q1 2025.
