Netflix Cancels “The Recruit” After Two Seasons

Netflix
Netflix has officially cancelled its Noah Centineo-led espionage dramedy “The Recruit” after two seasons.

Centineo starred as Owen Hendricks, a CIA lawyer who becomes involved in massive international conflicts after an asset tries to expose her relationship to the agency.

Colton Dunn, who stars in a supporting role as former CIA operative Lester Kitchens, revealed the news on Threads on Wednesday night saying in his post:

“‘The Recruit’ has been cancelled y’all. Such a bummer. I’ll share some pics and fun memories on IG but just wanted you to hear it from me. Thanks if you watched. I’m available now!”

Aarti Mann, Fivel Stewart, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Kaylah Zander, Kristian Bruun, Angel Parker and Jesse Collin co-starred in the series which consists of fourteen episodes across two seasons with the first season launching in December 2022.

The second season debuted at the end of January this year, the cancellation coming just six weeks after the new run premiered and landed 5.9 million views in its first four days on Netflix before scoring 6.1 million the full week after.

Sadly it couldn’t compete with the fairly similar but more popular “The Night Agent” whose second season scored 13.9 million views in its first four days and pulled in a further 15.2 million views in the week after.
