New on Netflix: February 2025’s Best New Movies & Shows

There’s a lot to love on Netflix in the month of February, which brings a mix of time-honored classics and brand-new titles to the platform. Beloved romantic comedies like Miss Congeniality and The Wedding Planner make their arrivals, as do a new film from Amy Schumer, February 5’s Kinda Pregnant, and a fresh release from Mean Girls director Mark Waters, La Dolce Villa, out on the 13th.

Elsewhere, there are reality shows both old and new to binge. The first season of Celebrity Bear Hunt, featuring Bear Grylls, TV’s favorite high-profile adventurist, drops on February 5. The Minneapolis-set eighth installment of Love Is Blind arrives just in time for Valentine’s Day. On the fictional side, the final episodes of Cobra Kai air on February 13. Two weeks later, a new show from Mindy Project castmates Mindy Kaling and Ike Barinholtz debuts, with the title Running Point. Kate Hudson stars in it as the president of the Los Angeles Waves, her family’s lucrative basketball franchise. Costars include New Girl’s Max Greenfield, The Other Two’s Drew Tarver, The Last Showgirl’s Brenda Song, and one Chet Hanks, son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.

Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, WeWork’s Adam Neumann, and Uber’s Travis Kalanick have all inspired streaming shows. Now Netflix has set its sights on a lesser-known, though no less intriguing, scam story. Emmy-nominated actor Kaitlyn Dever stars as Belle Gibson, an Australian influencer who claimed to have cured her terminal brain cancer through health and wellness alone. Not only was her remedy pseudoscience, but her public claim of having been diagnosed with cancer in the first place was a fallacy. Creator Samantha Strauss explores the scandal in a new limited series, out February 6, costarring Fear the Walking Dead’s Alycia Debnam-Carey and The Bold Type’s Aisha Dee.

It’s been less than six months since the last season of Love Is Blind concluded with two marriages—though, as of this week, only one is left standing. Nevertheless, another installment of the hit reality series will soon be upon us, this time set in the Twin Cities. And just as the first season premiered around Valentine’s Day in 2020, the next round of episodes drops just in time for date night.

Eric Newman’s six-episode series, which premieres February 20, asks: What would happen if a respected former president were tasked with leading a federal probe into a calamitous cyberattack—but few knew that he was suffering symptoms of cognitive decline? Robert De Niro stars as the ex-POTUS in question, surrounded by a series of characters who were seemingly inspired by real-life figures like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (a congresswoman played by Lizzy Caplan) and conservative pundit Ben Shapiro (Dan Stevens)—and, alas, there’s also a Black female president (Angela Bassett).

A key stop on the way to the 2025 Oscars is the Screen Actors Guild Awards, which honor the best acting performances in film and TV, as voted on by the thespians themselves. Wicked and Shōgun lead the nominations with five apiece. Among the biggest snubs and surprises this year was a sizable showing for the third season of Netflix’s Bridgerton, which earned nods for best ensemble in a TV drama and lead actress in a drama series for Nicola Coughlan, whose costar Jonathan Bailey also scored recognition for his supporting performance in Wicked. Kristen Bell will be a second-time host for the awards, airing February 23.
