The Dutch Online Gambling Association (NOGA), a Dutch trade association for gambling providers, that strives for a well-regulated, attractive and safe online gambling market, announced that it will be parting ways with its acting director.
Konings Will Not Extend His Term
According to the NOGA’s announcement, Eric Konings, who has held the position of interim director since July 1, will exit the association instead of renewing his term.
Konings joined the NOGA in 2018, initially serving the body as chairman. After approximately four years in the position, he switched to a part-time role as a policy advisor. Konings was named director in 2024 when he temporarily succeeded Peter-Paul de Goeij, the NOGA’s previous director.
Before joining the NOGA, the outgoing director worked as vice chair of the N.V. RBC Roosendaal soccer club. He is also the founder of Rosendale Business Consultancy, which offers strategic advice in the fields of remote gaming, sports, marketing and CSR/sustainability.
Konings has also been affiliated with the gaming giant Kindred Group, which he served for almost a decade. His most recent position at the international gambling powerhouse was sports betting integrity officer.
The NOGA board announced that it is currently considering its future and a successor to Konings.
Konings Enjoyed His Time as Director
In the meantime, Konings commented on his departure from the position, saying that he has really enjoyed his time as interim director of the NOGA. During his short tenure as director, he was responsible for the company’s strategic reorientation. As this progressed steadily, he decided not to extend his term.
I am proud of what we have achieved together and will continue to work for NOGA’s objectives until my last day. For now, I would like to thank the board for the trust they have placed in me.

Meanwhile, NOGA vice chair Sanna van Doom thanked Konings for his incredible contributions to the organization during his time as chairman, advisor and, most recently, interim director. She said that his involvement and expertise were deeply appreciated by the entire NOGA team.
Eric played an important role in the establishment of NOGA and in representing the interests of its members over the years. On behalf of the board and our members, I would like to thank him and wish Eric all the best in his future projects and ambitions.

Konings Highlighted the Dangers of Illegal Gambling
Konings, alongside VNLOK chair Helma Lodders, recently addressed the importance of delivering responsible, safe and legal services to consumers. The two highlighted the dangers of the expanding black market, which is actively adapting to changes in the Dutch gambling law.
Konings accused offshore companies of predatorily exploiting banned or restricted offerings to attract players with promises of huge payouts. This has had a devastating effect on vulnerable groups and actively endangers at-risk players.
