Image: Fuzion Xbox Testing on YouTubeWe’ve already given you our “hands on” impressions of Oblivion Remastered on Xbox Series X here at Pure Xbox, but how does the Series X version stack up alongside the Xbox Series S? It’s time to answer that question.

Down below, you can see gameplay footage of both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions of Oblivion Remastered courtesy of Fuzion Xbox Testing on YouTube, which not only compares the same bit of open world gameplay on both consoles, but also tests frame rate in the process. The results are… pretty much as expected.

On Xbox Series X, Oblivion Remastered is said to be running at a possible native output of 1080p-1274p in Quality mode which is then being upscaled to 4K, while Performance mode is listed with a possible native of 1080p. Both modes seem to hit their respective frame rate targets of 30FPS and 60FPS for the most part on Series X.

On Xbox Series S, Oblivion Remastered is said to be running at a possible native output of 420p-630p which is then being upscaled to 1260p, and again seems to stick pretty well to its 30FPS target. Unfortunately, the Xbox Series S version of Oblivion Remastered doesn’t include a 60FPS option at launch, so 30FPS is the limit.

We’re going to need Digital Foundry to step in with the confirmed resolutions in the near future, but this is a great first look at how Oblivion Remastered is faring on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S so far. We’ll throw both of Fuzion Xbox Testing’s videos down below, allowing you to compare the two versions and see what you think for yourself.

For what it’s worth, aside from the 30FPS limit, we think the Xbox Series S matches up very well to Series X here! We’ve still got a few concerns surrounding image stutters and artefacting that we mentioned in our “hands on” though…
