Ogun Customs Intercept 3 Smuggled Exotic Cars, Including A Rolls-Royce Ghost With DPV Of N905m

Ogun State Customs intercepts 3 smuggled exotic cars, including a 2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost with DPV of N905 million.

Others cars impounded include a 2014 Mercedes E-Class with DPV of N21,423,400 and a 2018 Honda Accord with DPV of N32,20,000.

The Command said it generated a total revenue of N45m in July 2025, which is higher than the N35m recorded in the corresponding month of 2024. 

As parts of efforts to curb smuggling of goods into the country, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ogun 1 Area Command has impounded three exotic cars, including a 2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost ultra-luxury sedan with a duty paid value (DPV) of N905m.

Others cars impounded by the Command include a 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan with a duty paid value of N21,423,400 and a 2018 Honda Accord sedan with a duty paid value of N32,20,000.

The seizure was disclosed by the Ogun 1 Area Command Controller, Comptroller Godwin Otunla, at a briefing held in Idiroko on Thursday August 21 2025.

Otunla explained that :

“In addition to these anti-smuggling feats, the Command also in July 2025, generated a total revenue of N45,054,191.00, which is higher than the N35,327,852.00 recorded in the corresponding month of 2024, representing a commendable increase of 27.47%.”

“This remarkable growth is a reflection of our enhanced compliance drive, improved monitoring of border activities and robust stakeholder engagement.”

Other contrabands seized within the period under review included 4424 bags of foreign parboiled rice, 1936 parcels of Cannabis Sativa (Marijuana) and 105 used tyres. The total duty paid value for all the seizures stood at N1.4 billion (N1,401,531,923.95).
