PhotoVogue and Vogue Ukraine launch Futurespective, an open call for Ukrainian photographers

Vogue Ukraine has always supported and promoted young national talents. In its ongoing quest to discover new names and celebrate Ukrainian artists on the international fashion scene, Vogue Ukraine is launching a new initiative: the PhotoVogue Ukraine Futurespective Open Call. This project will be part of the global PhotoVogue program, which aims to connect talented photographers with opportunities worldwide. Ukrainian artists aged 18 and over, specializing in fashion and artistic photography, are invited to participate in the competition. Participants can find competition details, the application form, information about the international jury involved this year, and project updates on a dedicated platform: FUTURESPECTIVE 2025.

Applications for the PhotoVogue Ukraine Futurespective Open Call will open on January 1 and remain open for three months. From the submitted portfolios, the Vogue Ukraine team will select 12 of the most promising and interesting entries. The shortlist will then be presented to the jury, which includes international and Ukrainian artists, curators, and photographers.

“Since Vogue’s arrival in Ukraine, our media has aimed to support and develop national talents,” says Venya Brykalin, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Ukraine. “For 11 years, Ukrainian photographers were featured in our publication and digital platforms, and we’ve participated in international Vogue projects. Continuing this tradition, we strive to use our expertise and influence to create new opportunities for Ukrainian photographic artists. These projects also serve as a way to capture a generation’s unique perspective, worldview, and sensitivity, and present them to leading industry players and the world at large.”

With the support of Condé Nast, as part of the PhotoVogue Ukraine Futurespective, selected works by the finalists will be exhibited at Vogue Ukraine showcases in Kyiv in May and in London in September. The selected artist will have the opportunity to create a special photography project to be published in the print edition of Vogue Ukraine in 2025.
