Comedy Central
The History of Sound

MUBI has officially announced a September 12th U.S. release date for its Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor-led period romance drama “The History of Sound”. The title had its world premiere at the recent 78th Cannes Film Festival.

The story follows two men who go on an impromptu journey through the backwoods of Maine to collect traditional songs, developing a chaste love affair along the way. [Source: MUBI]

Pedro Pascal

Brooklyn dad George Gountas made global headlines this weekend when he won a Pedro Pascal lookalike competition with the prize being a year’s worth of free burritos. Turns out, Gountas has long worked as a lighting designer on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show”.

In fact, several of the crew were the ones to suggest he enter the competition and have been roasting him ever since. Host Jon Stewart sat him down for a five-minute chat that’s worth a look.

Jurassic World Rebirth

Universal Pictures has released a new 90-second promo for Gareth Edwards’ “Jurassic World Rebirth” which is essentially a montage of clips from two key sequences in the film.

One is set around a gas station/diner, and the other an aquatic assault involving several Spinosaurus. Both are set to the music also used in the original “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” trailers. The film itself opens July 2nd.

The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball

Hulu has announced a July 28th premiere date for the upcoming revival of the award-winning animated series “The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball”. The new series comes after nearly six years since the original Cartoon Network series ended back in 2019.

Whether he’s battling an evil fast-food empire, facing off against a sentient AI in love with his mom, or trying to stop Banana Joe from wearing pants – Gumball Watterson drags his family and the rest of the town of Elmore along for the ride. [Source: Hulu]
