Razer has unveiled the Handheld Dock Chroma, a new ‘6-in-1’ docking station for mobile and gaming handheld devices.
Similar in concept to the Nintendo Switch dock, the Handheld Dock Chroma will allow you to connect your various portable devices to external displays like TVs and monitors. Specifically, it will support Android phones and tablets, iPhones and iPads (with USB-C ports only), the Nintendo Switch, Valve’s Steam Deck and Razer’s own Android-powered Edge handheld.
To run all of that, the docking station has a USB-C power port (with 100W power delivery), an HDMI output, a gigabit ethernet port and three USB-A ports for peripherals like controllers and keyboards. The dock can also be folded into a smaller rectangular box for easier transport. And since this is Razer, the dock has an RGB bar that you can customize with different lighting effects.
In Canada, the Handheld Dock Chroma is priced at $119.99, with pre-orders available now on Razer’s website ahead of a January 30th launch. All things considered, that’s not a bad price for a multi-device docking station. For context, Nintendo sells its official Switch dock for $74.99, while Valve charges $109 for its proprietary Steam Deck dock.
Alongside the reveal of the Handheld Dock Chroma, Razer confirmed a new PC Remote Play feature. Available now in beta, the feature allows users to stream games directly from their PCs to smartphones and tablets using mobile controllers like Razer’s own Kishi Ultra and the free Razer Nexus app on iOS and Android.
