Renowned Tamil Film Producer and Director Tirupur Jayamurugan Passes Away

Jayamurugan, a renowned film director and producer, passed away due to a heart attack. His funeral was held today (Jan. 18) in Tiruppur. Jayamurugan, the founder of Manithan Cine Arts, made his debut as a producer in 1995 with the film “Sindhubaadh” starring Mansoor Ali Khan. Following its success, he produced movies like “Purushan Enaku Arasan,” “Roja Malaray,” “Adada Enna Azhagu,” and “Thee Ivan.”

He later ventured into direction with “Roja Malaray,” featuring prominent actors like Murali, Arun Pandian, and Anand Babu. Despite receiving mixed reviews, he continued to work on other notable projects. Besides producing, he also composed music for films like “Adada Enna Azhagu” and “Thee Ivan.” He produced the movie “Poonguyile” starring Livingston, Udhaya, and Vindhya, although it faced delays and remained unreleased.

After a successful career in the film industry, Jayamurugan retired and lived with his family in Tiruppur. Yesterday, he experienced sudden chest pain and was rushed to a private hospital, where doctors were unable to save him. His demise was a major blow to his colleagues, friends, and family.

Jayamurugan’s body was kept at his residence in Thennampalayam, Tiruppur, for final respects. The last rites were conducted today morning, and his body was cremated at the South Tiruppur Electric Crematorium. His untimely passing has deeply saddened the Tamil film industry, family, and friends.
