CES is off and racing and emerging as one of the biggest trends in 2025 is an evolution in the robot vaccum space.
Dreame Technology is well known in this space and I’ve reviewed their products last year. At CES today, they announced its next generation of smart home cleaning products.
The headline product is by the X50 Ultra robot vacuum with something called ProLeap technology which means it actually has robotic, retractable legs.
Included with the launch, are a range of innovations that aims to revolutionise home care including the Bionic Multi-Joint Robotic Arm.
While we covered a competitor’s robot vacuum with an arm yesterday, it seems someone’s been sharing notes in the R&D labs this year, as they both are introducing robot arms to their products.
The technology is designed to clear clutter and clean hard to reach areas.
“From our industry-leading robotic vacuums and mops to pool cleaners, the range we showcased at CES 2025 is changing the approach to indoor and outdoor cleaning and helping people get precious time back in their busy lives. We’re thrilled to have unveiled the X50 Ultra with its innovative retractable legs, the X50 can expertly maneuver steps and door sills offering more efficient cleaning in more areas of the home.
Our ‘All Dreams in One Dreame’ launch at CES 2025 is more than just a range of new products, we’re offering a whole ecosystem automating and making cleaning easier inside and outside of the home. We’re excited to bring these products to the Australian and New Zealand market in 2025.”

The X50 Ultra sets a new standard for robotic vacuums, with ProLeap system featuring the world’s first robotic retractable legs, the X50 Ultra can navigate and clean areas where other robotic vacuums struggle.
The ProLeap system lifts the X50 Ultra’s chassis to allow the vacuum to navigate complex terrains including window sills, ensuring an seamless and efficient clean in more areas of the home.
Redefining autonomous cleaning, the X50 Ultra can maneuver steps up to 6cm in height (the gap between steps should be greater than 4cm); and for a single obstacle crossing and a single vertical step, the highest obstacle crossing height is 4.2cm.
Designed with VersaLift Navigation system allowing comprehensive 360-degree scanning with advanced DToF (Direct Time-of-Flight) sensor technology to efficiently navigate, detect and avoid obstacles and optimise under furniture cleaning.
Dreame X50 Ultra will be available in Australia and New Zealand in March 2025 available online and in local retail stores.
Bionic Multi-Joint Robotic Arm: The Future of Precision Cleaning
Dreame also adds the Bionic Multi-Joint Robotic Arm. The new technology demoed at CES is designed to tackle the toughest cleaning challenges with precision, flexibility, and strength.
Equipped with advanced AI recognition and a human-like joint design, this robotic arm effortlessly clears clutter, navigates tight spaces, and cleans hard-to-reach areas, providing a seamless cleaning experience. Powered by a lightweight yet high-torque 4-joint motor module, the arm extends up to 30cm and lifts objects weighing up to 400g (note: this is 100grams more than the competition), such as toys and shoes, eliminating the need for manual cleanup.
The AI-powered binocular system identifies household objects to grasp and move with precision and the top-mounted RBG camera offers 360° coverage allowing users to interact with pets or monitor cleaning from multiple angles.
The robotic arm is also designed to independently select and use tools like brushes and sponges reaching up to 40cm to clean low spaces and narrow gaps.
In 2025, Australian and New Zealand consumers can expect to see more of Dreame’s revolutionary range, including robotic vacuums, robotic pool cleaners, hair care products and wet and dry vacuums in local retail stores including JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, The Good Guys, Bing Lee and David Jones.
So with these robot legs and robot arms in our vacuum cleaners, how long will it be before we just see humanoid robots take over the cleaning tasks and allow them the access all parts of our home (maybe even put on the washing and make a coffee).
