Samsung introduced Galaxy AI to its smartphones, and now generative AI is making its way to interactive displays. The company revealed its WAFX-P models will now support key features that we have seen in smartphones – Circle to Search, AI Summary, and Live Transcript.
The service is called Samsung AI Assistant and is available on education-focused displays that aim to replace classroom blackboard.
Hoon Chung, Executive VP of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, boldly claimed this isn’t a feature to enhance learning – it is “revolutionizing” it.
Circle to Search will instantly deliver search results from trusted sources, and it will work as we know it – just draw a circle around text or images. AI Summary recaps lessons, making it easier for the teacher to simplify post-lesson reviews, and Live Transcript converts spoken word to text in real-time to make it easier for students.
The WAFX-P lineup with AI features will be available on the 65-inch, 75-inch, and 86-inch options. There is an NPU capable of performing 4.8 trillion operations per second, and the device will also have 16 GB RAM, 128 GB storage and an unnamed octa-core CPU.
The panel itself has 450 nits max brightness, a built-in 4K camera for video lessons and conference calls, a microphone and a 20-watt speaker. The screen’s OS is based on Android 15, and it will provide some neat features like Smart Note-On, which allows easy transition between handwriting and digital content, and File Converter, which simplifies media consumption on display.
