SEGA Launches New ‘SEGA Account’ System Offering Bonus In-Game Goodies

SEGA has this week launched a new online profile system called SEGA Account. It gives fans access to a “host of benefits” when playing SEGA and Atlus titles and using their titles’ online services.

This will include a bunch of exclusive bonuses for select games, starting with the upcoming release of Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which launches February 21st, 2025. If you create one of these accounts, you’ll receive the Kazuma Kiryu Special Outfit DLC in-game.

This first offer can be claimed from now until March 7, with codes being distributed between February 17 and that end date of March 7. Again, all you need to do is create a SEGA Account, link to a platform compatible with this game (like Xbox) and you’ll receive the DLC item.

Apart from being able to take part in promotions with “incredible rewards”, there’s also a feature “coming soon” which will let you look at your past records for SEGA games you’ve played.

In other news relating to SEGA, company president Shuji Utsumi recently mentioned how Sega had been considering something along the lines of a subscription service, but was unable to share more information at the time. Could this eventually link to the new SEGA Account system? We’ll have to wait and see!
