Grand Theft Auto 6 is less than a year away, and fans are digging through some incredible details from Trailer 1 and 2 that you likely missed—here are five of our favouritesWe’re so ready, Rockstar(Image: Rockstar)GTA 6 is now coming in May 2026, and while we’re still sad we won’t be playing in 2025, the two trailers we’ve received so far have given us a whole host of details to comb through.
With the game having been in development for years, Rockstar is clearly leaving no stone unturned in terms of ramming as much detail into Vice City and its surrounding regions as possible.
Eagle-eyed fans have been digging through to find even more details, and while these don’t help flesh out the story, some of them might hint at gameplay changes.
Here are some of our favourite details fans have found so far.
NPCs have pets? One fan spotted that an NPC outside of Jason’s window in Trailer 2 is holding what appears to be a furry friend. While the poster thinks it’s a cat, others have suggested it’s a chihuaha.
There are other animals in the trailer, too, so will Jason and Lucia be able to pet the dog? Only time will tell.
Realistic fingerprints? One close up in a car seemingly shows fingerprints on the screen and buttons on the dashboard. There’s also a whole UI designed just for this car, which is kind of fascinating.
Will the buttons work? Is the satnav operational? What’s on radio preset number 6?! These are all questions that scratch at our core.
Can we get a suntan or sunburn? At the start of Trailer 2, when meeting Jason for the first time we see a suntan and sunburn on his neck. While it could be tied to story progression, will we see our protagonists get suntans and then sunburn when left in the open too long?
We’re not expecting there to be a sunscreen applying minigame, but we bet some on the internet have their fingers crossed for one.
Airbags? If you’ve played GTA, you’ll know it doesn’t take a lot to get into an accident on the roads (and that there’s a good chance you caused it yourself).
Imagine our surprise, then, when one car in the trailer seemingly has airbags fitted. Will they deploy for the player? And will seatbelts be a factor? Yet more questions we’ll hopefully have answers for this time next year.
Will the clouds get even better? One Redditor spotted that there’s a big difference in the cloud detail between Trailers 1 and 2. With another year to go, could the clouds get even more realistic?
There’s every chance it’s down to the weather conditions captured at this point in the game, but whatever the case, we’re so ready to soar through the air.
Does Jason have a tattoo?Sure, it’s a small detail, but Jason Duvall might have a sneaky tattoo hidden under his shorts (control yourselves).
While we think it’s more likely a scar or bruising, our buff protagonist definitely has something lurking in there (last warning!). Time will tell.
