As a blast from the past, the iconic series Slayers is getting a new book! Rui Araizumi, known for illustrating the light novels, shared this information on social media. The new book will be a short story collection, and its title has been revealed: Slayers Spirit: Оji to Оjo to Dragon to (translated as Prince, Princess, and Dragon).

There will be four new stories in it, and three have been briefly described: one has Gourry trying to find his sword, Zelgadis gets back with an attractive man, and a princess wants to safeguard a library.

The book will hit Japanese bookstores on March 19, and it’s meant to mark the 35th anniversary of the franchise.

The last time the series received a short story collection, it was more than a decade ago in 2011.

Along with the original light novels, there are also both manga and anime adaptations. For the anime part, you can find TV series, a couple OVAs, and several movies.

In terms of books, there are additionally the novel series Slayers Smash, Slayers Delicious, Slayers Select, and Slayers Special.

So far there’s no word about licensing the book. J-Novel Club is publishing the light novels in English, picking up the series after Tokyopop released eight novels. J-Novel Club gave this description for the series:

Slayers Plot

Beautiful and brilliant sorcerer girls just can’t have nice things, huh? All I wanted to do was swipe a little bit of bandit treasure. Now suddenly I’m being chased around by icky trolls, nasty demons, mean mummies, and brooding golem bad boys. And for what? A tiny little artifact that can bring about the end of the world? Hah! I’ll show them there’s a reason you don’t cross Lina Inverse…
