The Best Stocking Stuffers for the Gamer in Your Life
It’s the holiday season and Christmas is right around the corner. Video games are obvious gift choices for anyone who loves them, but game costs have been increasing in recent years. If you’re looking for last-minute gift ideas or stocking stuffers for the video game lovers in your life, we’ve got you covered. We’ve got something for everyone in this Holiday Gift Guide, all priced under $50.
Apparel
A great place to start when thinking about video game merch, is t-shirts and apparel. There are lots of great options out there. Fangamer has a phenomenal collection of quality shirts from franchises like Undertale, Hollow Knight, and Elden Ring. Another option I’ve used is Redbubble.com to create my own shirts to gift people based on the games they love.
Books/Game Guides
No Holiday Gift Guide would be complete without some suggested reading. Amazon and most major book stores carry game guides and art books. Fangamer has beautiful exclusive guides for tons of games. Third Edition Books has gorgeous hardcover collections of video game essays, including the excellent “The Strange Work of Taro Yoko: From Drakengard to Nier Automata”.
Candy
When I think of Holiday Gift Guides, I always think of food-related treats. There aren’t tons of food-related videogame options, but there is definitely a lot of candy. Our example down below is a Legend of Zelda tin of mints. You might be surprised to find out how many amazing tin options are out there. The mints will get eaten, but the tins last forever!
Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case
The Nintendo Switch 2 came out this past year. It seems almost impossible to find an official Nintendo Switch 2 carrying case. But there are lots of excellent options that aren’t nearly as expensive. I got this Orzly case, and it as high quality as anyone would ever need. It’s also widely available, and often on sale.
Coasters
I’m trying to include lots of ideas in this Holiday Gift Guide that really make me think of stocking stuffers, and not just inexpensive video game-related gifts. There are a lot of cool coasters out there. This Metal Gear Solid-themed set has been tempting me for a while. But a quick Google search will make you realize there are way more coaster options out there than you’d think.
Controllers
Console controllers have also increased in price in recent years, but there are some great lower budget options. Turtle Beach has a phenomenal collection of wired Nintendo Switch controllers. Their fun designs make them a preferred choice to many players who like to accessorize.
Keychains
Keychains are another easy stocking stuffer idea for a Holiday Gift Guide. I’m using this section to highlight the idea that a lot of video game publishers sell their own merch. Square-Enix’s online store has tons of expensive high-end merch. But their keychains are priced right as an easy stocking stuffer.
LEGO
Nintendo is another publisher with their own merch store on their website. And this Bowser LEGO set is proof that not all LEGO sets have to go under the tree. There are some lower budget options out there.
