Kai Cenat recently stirred some strong opinions on social media after weighing in on the Super Bowl halftime performance. The streamer rewatched Kendrick Lamar perform while content-creating on Twitch. He relied on the video that the NFL uploaded of the show on February 9.

He claimed that the NFL might’ve added crowd noises to the uploaded version. In two days, the performance has collected over 46.1 million YouTube views.
“They add crowd effects, I did not know that,” Kai said, doubling down on his theory.
Later in the stream, he also claimed that the crowd wasn’t making any noise during the parts that sounded loud in the video. “I’m just being honest. I was there,” Cenat added. Nonetheless, he did clear up when the audience got hyped: when Kendrick popped out, when he performed ‘Not Like Us,’ when SZA joined him on stage, and during Samuel L. Jackson’s ‘Uncle Sam’ monologue.
“The crowd was not good. They was just not f**king with the performance, like, up until ‘Not Like Us,’” he added.
Meanwhile, neither the NFL nor Apple Music have addressed the streamer’s allegations.
Kai Cenat Praises Kendrick Lamar’s PerformanceDespite gagging over the alleged added crowd noise, Kai Cenat also gave Kung Fu Kenny his flowers for the halftime show.
“What I will say is, the symbolism behind that performance was top-tier. I’m not gon’ lie,” the streamer said, dropping an audio bomb effect on his stream!

@browngirlz74 added, “The amount of hate coming from people that look like the performer is wild! Lamar killed it & Eagles earned that win!”
“Wild how, during Black History Month, a Black man can take the stage for the culture, and the first to tear him down are his own. Instead of celebrating greatness, some would rather push conspiracy theories for clicks. Y’all love to scream ‘for the culture’ until it’s time to actually support it. Ain’t no fake crowd noise—just fake love from familiar faces. Smh… Why is it so hard to let one of our own win?,” @deseanblack_official also said.
Meanwhile, @attractifff called out folks accusing Kai Cenat of “hating” on Kenny. “Where is he hating on him tho? He just told yall what the crowd was doing and ended it by saying how he loved the symbolism of the performance,” she wrote.
@shone_brianna commented, “He won’t tell us he’s a drake fan, oh but the signs will be there!”
“For a larger venue performance (stadiums etc) it’s common practice to add crowd noise to the show tape,” @daronfrom112 said.
@customtnails1 wrote, “I JUST WANT TO KNOW!!! WHO ASKED @kaicenat FOR THIS REVIEW????? 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ LIKE EVERYTHING DONT NEED A REACTION!!!! KDOT DID WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE… End of Story.”
Social media reactions aside. Kai Cenat is just one of a few celebrities who have weighed in on Kendrick Lamar’s segment. Ye (the former Kanye West), Marlon Wayans, and Kevin Durant are a few others. Mustard, the producer of ‘Not Like Us’, recently spoke out too.
Boosie, as usual, had quite a bit to say as well, including labeling Serena Williams a bitter ex-girlfriend for her surprise crip-walk! Williams, though, didn’t feed into Boosie with an online response. However, she and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, recently cleared the air on why she decided to hop on that stage and whether it had anything to do with shading Drake.
