Mexicos Guadalajara International Book Fair is the largest publishing convention in the Americas, and it also invites authors from around the world to join its exhibits. Towards the end of the year, the city of Guadalajara organizes the largest book fair in the Americas. Officially known as the Feria Internacional del Libro de Guadalajara (FIL Guadalajara), the event brings together both the regions major publishers as well as many independent authors for a grand cultural event celebrating literature.
However, that is not all. The Guadalajara International Book Fair has also drawn a sizeable number of international publishers as well as huge rosters of other independent authors from around the world.
It is for this reason that Christian writers like Jan Keegan are seeing it as a timely opportunity to showcase Spanish editions of their books in the hopes of expanding towards a more global audience.
Keegans own book is Como Cristo es Mi Ejemplo: Un camino diario en la fe con Cristo (known in English as As Christ is my Example: A Daily Walk in Faith with Christ). It is a 31-day devotional that focuses on the life of Jesus and how He set great examples about how one is meant to go through in their life.
However, Como Cristo es Mi Ejemplo also comes with additional notes that can allow readers to turn each daily devotional into a lesson for teaching others about Jesus. Combined with its translation into Spanish, Keegan hopes that the book will do a great deal of work spreading the faith and bring more to Christ.
