New Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle, has recently announced is 39-man provisional list ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualification clash against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations champions have only secured four points out of possible 12 points which has therefore placed them in the 5th place of the Group C standings.
They face a must-win encounter against the league leaders in Kigali before playing host to the Southern African side, Zimbabwe, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, in Uyo.

This squad list comprises Super Eagles top stars, as well as new faces which have to battle for the 23-man final list with their exceptional skills over the coming days.
Musa, Ekong, Osimhen, lead Chelle’s first squad list
Chelle has called upon his best legs for the two-match fixtures later this month. Ahmed Musa returns to the squad, along with Super Eagles’ vice-captain William Troost-Ekong, who is gearing up for his final AFCON tournament before bidding farewell to the team.

It is suggested that Chelle has assembled his best players for the encounter, but the final squad selection remains highly anticipated, as it will play a crucial role in the upcoming clashes.

That said, players like Osimhen, Lookman, Bassey, and Nwabali are expected to maintain their club form and help secure a spot on the global stage in 2026.
