Synology Launches DiskStation DS925+ for High-Performance Data Management and Business Scalability

Synology has unveiled its latest 4-bay NAS solution, the DiskStation DS925+, designed to meet the data management needs of professionals and businesses requiring high performance, compact design, and scalability. The DS925+ is part of the brand’s widely adopted Plus Series, known for delivering reliability in both personal and enterprise environments, including use as edge servers for remote and branch offices.

The DS925+ is built for demanding workloads, offering dual 2.5GbE ports and two M.2 NVMe slots, which can be configured for either SSD caching or an all-flash storage pool. Compared to its predecessor, the DS925+ achieves up to 149% faster SMB download speeds, 150% faster upload speeds, 131% faster read performance, and 150% faster write performance with preconfigured settings.

In addition to performance upgrades, the new model offers scalable storage capacity. When paired with the newly released DX525 expansion unit, the DS925+ supports up to nine drive bays, delivering as much as 180TB of raw storage capacity. This allows businesses to scale storage as their data needs grow.

To ensure consistent performance and reliability, the DS925+ is optimized for use with Synology hard drives and operates under a strictly tested drive compatibility framework. The system has undergone over 7,000 hours of rigorous testing. Furthermore, installation of the DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system on the DS925+ requires the use of compatible drives to ensure long-term dependability.

The DS925+ runs on Synology’s DiskStation Manager (DSM), providing a comprehensive suite of features tailored for business workloads. With Synology Drive, users can turn the system into a private cloud, allowing for cross-platform access and site-to-site syncing, ideal for teams working across different locations.

The Active Backup Suite is included for centralized backup of Windows, Linux, and macOS devices, as well as virtual machines and cloud accounts, and it offers flexible off-site backup configurations to enhance disaster recovery planning.

For physical security needs, Surveillance Station enables scalable video management and supports real-time intelligent analytics to help protect business assets.

The DS925+ and the DX525 expansion unit will be available globally starting 23 April 2025 through Synology’s official partner and reseller channels. More information can be found on the Synology website.
