The WeChat Gift-Giving Feature Is Currently Undergoing Gradual Grey-Scale Testing

Tencent responded to the news that WeChat plans to fully open the ‘gift-giving’ feature on WeChat Mini Program before the Spring Festival, stating that currently the ‘gift-giving’ feature is gradually being tested in a gray scale manner, subject to actual experience.

WeChat Mini Program recently conducted a gray scale test of the ‘gift-giving’ feature and released relevant user guidelines on December 17th. It is understood that apart from jewelry and education training categories, other products on WeChat Mini Program will default support the ‘gift-giving’ feature, with product prices not exceeding 10,000 yuan.

Goods and stores that meet the requirements will automatically activate the “send gift” function. Users can tap on “send to friend” to bring up the “confirm gift” page, choose a style, view the amount, select a friend, and complete payment. The gift will then be sent out automatically. The recipient fills in the shipping address and before receiving the gift, they can also choose to exchange it for another style of equal value under that product.
