This VR fitness game is so good you won’t want to step back into the real world

This Christmas, I discovered what might just be the most fun and futuristic way to work out – FitXR on the Meta Quest 3S. My family and I had the best time testing it out in our matching holiday PJs on Christmas Day. This is not just a game, it’s an experience. If you’re into fitness and love a bit of tech, this game is an absolute must-try.

First off, let’s talk about the headset. The Meta Quest 3S is a marvel. Lightweight, sleek and comfortable, it’s a definite upgrade from older VR models. The visuals are crystal-clear with an impressive 4K resolution and the immersive sound quality makes you feel like you’re in the middle of a high-energy class or sparring match.

It’s also ridiculously easy to set up and use – no confusing instructions or complicated calibrations. You pop it on, grab the controllers, and you’re good to go.

Now, on to FitXR. The game is an extensive fitness platform offering everything from boxing and combat training to Zumba, yoga, sculpting and high-intensity interval training (HIIT). Each activity is beautifully designed with interactive environments, dynamic instructors and a variety of difficulty levels. Whether you’re a beginner or a fitness fanatic, there’s something for everyone.

For me, the boxing and sculpting sessions were the highlight. Boxing felt like stepping into a virtual ring, complete with opponents, combos and a cheering crowd. It’s fast-paced and exhilarating but not so intense that you feel wiped out after – perfect for a post-gym session or a quick evening workout.

Sculpting on the other hand was all about targeted movements and form. The instructors were clear and encouraging, and the virtual feedback system helped me tweak my posture and movements in real time.

The best part? It’s all incredibly easy to follow. The game’s interface is intuitive, and the step-by-step tutorials make sure you’re never lost, no matter how complex the workout. Christmas morning quickly turned into a mini family fitness competition. Everyone had their turn with the headset and it was a unanimous hit.

What really sets FitXR apart is how immersive it is. You forget you’re standing in your living room – suddenly, you’re dodging punches and dancing in a neon-lit studio. It’s hard not to lose track of time.

Overall, FitXR on the Meta Quest 3S is the perfect fitness game for anyone who loves tech and wants to make working out exciting. It’s accessible, innovative and endlessly entertaining. If you’re looking for a reason to ditch the treadmill and spice up your fitness routine, this game will have you hooked. Just be prepared – you might not want to re-enter the real world anytime soon!
