Time Enforcers tasks you with, well, saving time
Journey to feudal Japan and fight the evil Chronolith
Solve devious puzzles with your historical knowledge

Educating kids on history can be time-consuming and frustrating, mainly because it’s difficult to translate such a dry topic into something engaging. But, in the case of Time Enforcers, we can see how a developer can make an effort to rectify that. Out now on iOS and Android (via the Samsung Galaxy app store), it offers a new and fun way for kids to learn.

Time Enforcers takes the form of part digital interactive comic and part top-down action game. Your job is, as you might expect, to foil threats to time and the plans of the evil Chronolith as you play one of the titular Time Enforcers, travelling back to feudal Japan.

This is also where the majority of the educational aspect comes in, as you’ll have to make your way through historical puzzles inspired by real-world events and use the information you’ve gathered to answer questions posed by Chronolith’s minions to try and halt your progress.

Horrible histories

As far as educational releases go, you could do a lot worse than something such as Time Enforcers. While it concentrates on a period of history unlikely to show up on many curriculums in the West, Time Enforcers does promise to be both informative and fun for players old and young alike.

Indeed, Time Enforcers goes so far as to actually offer an entire reference list for what inspired and informed the development of this action puzzler. So, if you’ve been meaning to learn more about Samurai-era Japan, maybe it’s worth a look?
