About the roleWe’re looking to hire a Founding Platform Engineer.

You’ll be the technical foundation of our company, owning our entire infrastructure and platform services. As our first platform hire, you’ll build scalable systems that enable our team to move fast while maintaining reliability and security.

Responsibilities

Owning our entire infrastructure (monorepo with 10+ microservices on AWS and Porter)
Building and maintaining our ML/LLM model deployment pipeline and serving infrastructure
Owning our incident response process, including on-call rotations and alerting systems
Designing and implementing observability solutions across our stack
Partnering with other engineers to improve latency and performance in our realtime systems
Communicating with external vendors regarding cloud offerings
Driving a potential SOC-2 Type II compliance endeavor (it’s easy with Porter)
Managing cloud costs and optimizing resource utilization

Required Qualifications

A track record of excellence throughout your career
3+ years of experience in platform/infrastructure engineering
Deep expertise with AWS services (ECS/EKS, IAM, VPC, S3, RDS)
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Track record of building and maintaining production ML/LLM infrastructure
Proficiency in at least one programming language (TypeScript/Python/Go/Java)
Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
Strong background in system design, operating systems, and distributed systems

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with BaaS (backend-as-a-service) providers like Porter, Supabase, Railway, etc.
Familiarity with TypeScript, Bun, and T3 Stack
Experience in building LLM applications
Aptitude for prompt engineering
Former founding or critical leadership experience
