Liverpool scored a late penalty to seal a 1-0 victory over Inter Milan in a nervy Champions League clash at the San Siro on Tuesday night.
It was Dominik Szoboszlai who took the shot in his stride and hammers high to his left in the 88th minute of the game.
The controversial penalty was awardes after Alessandro Bastoni was adjudged to have tugged at the shirt of Florian Wirtz following a VAR check.
Liverpool are up to eighth in standings, while Inter drop to fifth, with two league phase games left.
Elsewhere, Chelsea’s hopes of an automatic place in the last 16 suffer a blow as they slip to a second league phase defeat.
The Blues were beaten 2-1 by Atalanta, with Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman playing for 87 minute in the game.

Joao Pedro had opened scoring for Chelsea in the first half, when Atalanta, being the better side after break, equalised through Gianluca Scamacca, before Charles de Ketelaere grabbed the late winner.
The defeat means Chelsea drop to 11th in league phase of the Champions League. Atalanta, meanwhile, leap up to third, three points ahead of the Blues.
In Spain, Barcelona pulled off a fine comeback win as they came from behind to beat visiting Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1.
Having trailed 1-0 from the first half through an Ansgar Knauff goal, Barca defender Jules Kounde scored twice in four second half minutes to seal victory for the hosts.
Elsewhere, Victor Osimhen was in action for Galatasaray as his side fell to a 1-0 defeat to Monaco. Tottenham Hotspur thrashed Slavia Prague 3-0.
Bayern Munich also thrashed Sporting 3-1, Marseille saw off Union in a 3-2 thriller, while Atletico Madrid overpowered PSV in a 3-2 victory.
