Vogue’s Most Dressed of 2024

Vogue’s Most Dressed of 2024

You’ve heard of Best Dressed, but now we raise you Most Dressed, a list of the people who did the absolute, well, most with their fashion this year. Take Rita Ora, who wore 10 outfits in one night while hosting the European Music Awards, or Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, who found every pink and green dress under the sun for the Wicked press tour. Elsewhere, Zendaya gave a masterclass in method dressing with her thorough Challengers and Dune: Part Two tours, while Taylor Swift spent 2024 showing us just how many ways she can wear red, plaid, and—occasionally—red plaid.

We’re not here to say that anyone on this list was the best or worst dressed, just that they wore a whoooooole lot of clothing—be it in quality or quantity. Whether they gave it their all on a press tour, promoted a new album, or were just dedicated to being extra, they kept us busy with all of their sartorial switch-ups.

Below, see Vogue’s Most Dressed of 2024, from Katy Perry’s hyperpop rebrand to Ellie the Elephant’s fitted tunnel walks.

Taylor SwiftBetween West Village date nights with Travis Kelce and her multi-year Eras Tour, Taylor Swift continued to use fashion as a method of communication. Many fans suspect that Swift’s recent plaid obsession—spanning an Austin Powers-esque Vivienne Westwood set to Dior’s bid for a high-low silhouette revival—hints at her (presumed) next album, Reputation (Taylor’s Version). While she may be big on Easter eggs, Swift’s recurrent red outfits have a more obvious meaning: she regularly heads to Missouri to cheer on Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Katy PerrySubtlety wasn’t exactly the name of Katy Perry’s game when she attempted a style overhaul in the lead-up to her album, 143. On the VMAs red carpet, she wore a shredded Who Decides War two-piece—which she accessorized with a temporary lower back tattoo of a QR code that led to a website to pre-save 143. And on not one but two occasions, she wore the lyrics of her song “Woman’s World,” both on a T-shirt as well as the ceaseless train of a red one-shoulder Balenciaga dress. We’re curious to see if this new style is a permanent one, or if it ended with her album release.

Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie BradshawWhile the return of And Just Like That… is still on the horizon, we’ve already gotten more than a sneak peek at Carrie Bradshaw’s over-the-top wardrobe. This year, Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted in gargantuan hats and flower-filled Simone Rocha dresses alike. However her most notable accessory of 2024 wasn’t a pair of Carrie’s Manolos, but a status galley—the then-unreleased copy of the late Russian dissident Alexei Navalny’s memoir.

Ellie the ElephantWhile the New York Liberty took home the WNBA championship this year, the team’s number one anthropomorphic elephant gained nationwide fame thanks to her outrageous style and dance moves to match. We will never forget her strutting down the Barclay’s Center tunnel toting a Telfar bag, or when she thrust her Off-White purse into the hands of a post-indictment Eric Adams during the Liberty’s victory celebration.

Camila CabelloThis year solidified Cabello’s transition from girl-grouper to solo artist with C, XOXO—a feat she achieved with some truly outré looks. While her blonde hair didn’t last, her penchant for especially freaky footwear sure did. We’ve got to hand it to Cabello for championing younger brands, donning Hodakova belt chaps, furry Fidan Novruzova boots, a Grace Ling ombré dress, and a Jane Wade purse made of actual ice.

ZendayaThis list couldn’t be complete without the woman who dominated the news cycle with not one but two international press tours this year. Between her vintage Mugler gynoid suit for Dune: Part Two and her Loewe tennis ball heels for Challengers, Zendaya also found time to co-host the 2024 Met Gala. (Naturally, she wore two looks there, as well.) Outside of her own obligations, Zendaya and her stylist, Law Roach, still found ways to dress on-theme, from the barely-there Bob Mackie she wore to induct Cher into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to the Elizabethan Vivienne Westwood number she wore to support Tom Holland in his West End production of Romeo & Juliet.

Darren CrissThe Glee actor leaned into the outlandish this year—all while finding new ways to avoid wearing a shirt. Despite being a straight man, Criss seemingly attempted to channel his inner gay icon at the CFDA Awards, where he wore a cropped Christian Siriano tuxedo jacket with a low-waisted magenta tulle ball skirt. This wasn’t even his first shirtless-in-Siriano moment this year: at the designer’s spring 2025 show, Criss wore a shimmering bronze tux jacket with a pair of matching ultra-high-waisted trousers.

Blake LivelyWhen promoting her film It Ends With Us, Blake Lively adopted florals in homage to her character, Lily Bloom. In one weekend alone, the actor donned 10 separate looks from Versace, Chanel, Oscar de la Renta, Dior, and showed love to smaller labels like Dauphinette and Christopher John Rogers. Lively leaned into power clashing, bright colors, and sparkle—a decidedly “more is more” approach. Even outside of her own film, the actor reminded us of her commitment to method dressing, be it in a burgundy Versace catsuit for the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere, or in ruby-red rhinestoned Marc Jacobs Kiki Mary-Janes for a Wicked screening.

Ariana Grande & Cynthia ErivoThis year, the Wicked stars embarked on what scientists are calling the longest press tour in the history of the known universe. Somehow, the two never ran out of coordinating looks—Ariana Grande in shades of pink, white, and yellow, and Cynthia Erivo in black and green. Kudos to the two—and their intrepid stylists Mimi Cuttrell and Jason Bolden. We don’t know how they’re going to do it all again for Wicked: Part Two. (We don’t know how we’re going to do it all again, either.)

Jeff GoldblumNot one to be outshined by his Wicked co-stars, Jeff Goldblum also proved himself a fashion force to be reckoned with. He leaned into an Ozian kookiness with psychedelic prints, an outrageous shearling Burberry coat, and an unmatched commitment to eyewear. It’s no wonder we saw him everywhere from the Met Gala to the Loewe show.

Daisy Edgar-JonesDaisy Edgar-Jones and her stylist Dani Michelle spared no expense for the actor’s Twisters press tour this year. The actor, in what can only be described as a fashion girl power play, emerged as one of the first celebrities to wear Chemena Kamali’s Chloé. But Edgar-Jones proved herself a well-rounded dresser in everything from a vibrant coral Schiaparelli minidress with gold nipple buttons to a windswept Vivienne Westwood corset dress. She’s come a long way from Marianne’s dowdy school uniform.

Addison RaeAddison Rae only added to her pop-star wardrobe this year. With a little help from stylist Dara, the TikTok star-turned-singer put pedal to the metal in Thom Browne couture and a Jean Paul Gaultier bullet bra bustier. She still, thankfully, retained that lightly deranged energy that all we know and love, like the Vegas showgirl-meets-Björk swan moment from Miss Clare Sullivan and the “Lady Fucking Gaga” tee she wore with micro shorts and red glittery pumps. Never change, Addison.

FKA twigsBetween promoting a remake of The Crow and her forthcoming album Eusexua, FKA twigs had a busy 2024. Whether she was doing press, celebrating her British Vogue cover, or hitting the Met Gala carpet, twigs managed to incorporate her daring style via horse tail bags, futuristic shades, and, of course, her love of platform shoes.

Jennifer LopezThe singer and actor apparently had three films out this year, including her magnum opus This Is Me…Now, as well as Atlas and Unstoppable, which gave us a peek into her press tour style. In London, she wore a full Dior look that included a pair of backless boots—a real shoe mullet situation. At the Toronto International Film Festival, she embraced her inner disco ball in a silver Tamara Ralph dress which was held together only by black bows. Still, it was business as usual off the promotion circuit: plenty of Hermès bags, furry coats, and towering heels to go around. You know, pretty de rigueur stuff!

Rita OraRita Ora one-upped Blake Lively’s 10 outfits in one weekend with a record-setting 10 outfits in one night. The singer hosted the European Music Awards in everything from a hair-raising strapless strapless dress to a sheer hooded muumuu and Kiki boots. And that’s not even to speak of her litany of other looks this year, from the Primark suit she wore to the Fashion Awards to the daring beaded Marni at the Met Gala.

Daniel CraigThis year, ahead of his role in Luca Guadagnino’s Queer, Daniel Craig worked hard to shed his James Bond image. The easiest way to do that, per Craig’s roster of outfits, is through sweaters and shades. We especially loved his wacky multicolored Loewe knit, which he wore with olive balloon pants and a pair of yellow-lensed sunglasses.

Charli xcxThere’s no denying it: 2024 belonged to Charli xcx. Even pre-brat, the singer turned heads in Marni at the 2024 Met Gala. But after her year-defining album, it’s safe to say that Charli’s penchant for club-rat staples—micro shorts, sheer, and lots and lots of leather—became just as zeitgeist-y as her album. We’d even go so far as to say that she was on the moodboard for some other people on this list…Call her Gabriette the way everyone’s so inspired.
