Six Protoframe members team up to defend the city of Höllvania against the Scaldra army and a Techrot infestation, with a late-nineties cyberpunk styling and a driveable motorcycle.
With the likes of Ben Starr (Final Fantasy 16), Amelia Tyler (Baldur’s Gate 3), Neil Newbon (Baldur’s Gate 3) and Nick Apostolides (Resident Evil 4 Remake) on the voice cast, you’ll be able to chat to your comrades through a new romance and relationship system. Protoframe versions can be used through Gemini Skins, too, letting players swap in Protoframe versions of Excalibur, Mag, Volt, Nyx, Trinity, and Cyte-09.
It wouldn’t be a new Warframe update without a fresh ‘Frame to play as, and this time we get the Cyte-09 which can scan and see enemies through walls, as well as cloak itself. There’s even an in-game run-and-gun side-scroller you can play in the arcade.
Speaking of playing new things, Faceoff is a new PvPvE game type, the first of its kind in Warframe. It’s one of four new mission types being added with the 1999 update.
I’ve been out of Warframe for some time but the X-Men vibes and voice cast alone have me itching to jump back in.
