Watch: Woo Do Hwan And Lee Yoo Mi Reunite As Exes Following Shocking Medical Diagnoses In New Rom-Com “Mr. Plankton” Teasers

Netflix’s new series “Mr. Plankton” has released its first poster and teaser!

Written by Jo Yong of “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” and directed by Hong Jong Chan who helmed “Juvenile Justice” and “Dear My Friends,” “Mr. Plankton” is a romantic comedy that depicts the story of people who can’t blend in or connect with anyone, just like plankton. The drama will follow the journey of a man named Hae Jo (Woo Do Hwan), who was born by mistake, as he is accompanied by a woman named Jae Mi (Lee Yoo Mi), who is the unhappiest woman in the world.

The teaser poster features Hae Jo and Jae Mi walking side by side in matching tracksuits. While they walk together, their eyes look away from each other, creating a chemistry that hints at a romantic connection but also suggests distance. The tagline, “A last love romantic comedy of drifting souls,” adds to the intrigue about the unique romance the two will share.

The trailer released with the poster begins with shocking revelations for Hae Jo and Jae Mi. After being diagnosed with a brain tumor and given a terminal prognosis, Hae Jo unexpectedly reunites with his ex-girlfriend Jae Mi, who is heartbroken after learning that she is facing premature menopause despite having to carry on the family line as a prospective bride.

On the day of the wedding she has always dreamed of, Hae Jo crashes the event and tells her, “You want to escape, not get married. Let’s go,” while reaching out to her. At that moment, Jae Mi’s devoted fiancé Eoh Heung (Oh Jung Se) enters the scene, raising curiosity about what will happen next.

As they embark on this unexpected journey together, Hae Jo’s poignant remark, “Why is life so fun and chaotic at the end? It makes you hold on,” builds anticipation for their romantic story.

Director Hong Jong Chan said, “Not only Hae Jo, Jae Mi, and Eoh Heung but all the characters in the story are lovable. As you joyfully follow these pure characters, you’ll find comfort and healing.” His comments increase anticipation for how their delightful journey will unfold.

“Mr. Plankton” is set to premiere on November 8 via Netflix.
